Dancers Information
The Bal d’Europe will be held this year on Saturday, March 1, 2008 at the
Pierre Hotel, New York City. The Ball raises funds for the benefit of international
education programs. In 2008, the Bal d’Europe
beneficiary is the UnCommon Leadership Foundation.
In preparation for the Ball, there are weekly rehearsals and participating dancers are expected to
attend to be at peak performance level. There are also minor financial responsibilities associated
with the Ball as outlined below. Dancers’ family and friends are encouraged to attend the Ball.
At the Ball, One of the
highlights of the evening is the performance of the “Quadrille de la Bal
d’Europe”,
a new version of a popular dance performed at similar balls in Europe for over
two centuries. It is performed by young people from a wide international spectrum
who are invited or recommended to participate each year.
Anticipated Costs of Participating in the Ball
- Dancer’s Ticket (Ladies & Gentlemen): $250
- Ladies’ Formal Long, full skirted Dress in off white color
- Gentlemen’s White Tie & Tails: $120 (approximate cost, due at time of rental)

Dress Code for Rehearsals
- Ladies – must wear wide – preferably long - skirts and low heels (NO pants, short skirts or boots)
bring a change of clothing if necessary.
- Men: Jacket and slacks, NO jeans, NO boots.
